Having a stand manager is also a good idea, be sure that there is always someone manning the stand who can answer questions quickly and confidently. (Always think the next customer could be worth Millions to your company)

Do’s

Brief you staff pre show on offers, new developments, and company basics

Set them goals and give them specific roles pre show.

Dress appropriately for the event

Stand up when manning the stand and look interested

Take a look around the exhibition to see what your competitors are doing

Don’t forget to book a place to stay if the show is over a few days. As many hotels will be booked out if large exhibitions are taking place (often a few months in advance is a good idea).

Don’ts

If you don’t want to be there, don’t let it show

Sit down and gossip about the weekends events in front of potential customers

Leave the stand unattended

Leave expensive items lying around, wallets, mobile phones etc. (items are highly likely to go missing at exhibitions)

4. Staffing

Choosing the right staff
Months of effort can be ruined if you have a member of staff on the stand who really does not want to be there.

Make sure you have staff who are bubbly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable on the company but most of all approachable.

Manning the Stand
The most logical and fair way is to devise a staffing rota. This way everyone will have clear directions and will be there when needed most.
